State-of-Art CAD/CAM at Latvia Trade Fair

Endless Nesting, Direct Modelling Updates, and Machining Demonstrations

A number of Hexagon’s state-of-the-art CAD/CAM products will be on show at the Baltic countries’ most important trade fair, Tech Industry, at the end of the month.

Dreambird, an authorised distributor in Russia, CIS and the Baltic countries, will be exhibiting and demonstrating the latest releases of RADAN, EDGECAM, WORKNC, VISI, WOKXPLORE and WORKPLAN.

There will also be live machining demonstrations on the Dreambird booth – C5, in Hall 2, at the Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga, Latvia, from November 28 to 30.

Ada Lakevich, from Dreambird’s marketing team, says that as Tech Industry is an international show for a variety of industrial sectors including mechanical engineering, metalworking, automation, tools and innovated technology, it is the idea showcase for Hexagon’s ethos of powering a successful digital ecosystem which is smart and fully connected.

Visitors to the booth can see demonstrations of more than 30 enhancements in the latest release of the EDGECAM software suite for mill-turn and multi-axis machining. “The most significant  are fond in the specialist direct modelling CAD for CAM EDGECAM | Designer application, as well as milling and turning machining cycles, Tombstone Manager, and specific 3D printing and laser melting additive manufacturing technologies.”

RADAN 2020.1 features a new ‘endless nesting’ process which enables parts for additional jobs to continuously go on to the nest, which keeps production going with no interruption, improving both machining and sheet utilisation. There are also enhancements on show to the 5-axis laser cutting Radm-ax module and tube cutting system Radtube, along with new functions for Radquote, to improve costing and quote preparations.

And Dreambird engineers will familiarise visitors with WORKNC, which is particularly valuable for 5-axis machining of complex components; VISI, for the mould and die industry; the 3D CAD viewer and analyser WORKXPLORE; and WORKPLAN, which is a specific sheet metal fabrication MES system.

The booth will also host a number of Italian sheet metal fabrication machines, programmed by RADAN, and automatic storage systems, in partnership with the Italian Machinery Association and Smart Storage Solutions.

Ada Lakevich says: “We’ll be holding live demonstrations on a Euromac punch press and FX Cell robotic bending cell; and a Costa Levigatrici polishing, deburring and post-laser cleaning machine.” In addition, Modula warehouse automation solutions and Lista industrial furniture will be on display, along with equipment from several other manufacturers, including Wilson Tool, Ficep and Eurotherm, will be exhibited.
